An inspiring interfaith Iftar gathering was held at Uttar Ghumdhum Barua Para in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban. Supon’s Special Care, a local coaching center, organized the event, which saw 110 students from different religious backgrounds participate.

The event took place on Sunday (March 23) and was attended by local dignitaries, teachers, and students. Among the notable guests were Himel Barua Himu, founder and director of Tarunner Abhijatrik, journalist Abdur Rashid Manik, development worker Raihan Kamal Rabbi, and social activists Bikal Barua and Sunil Barua.

Speaking at the event, Himel Barua Himu said,
“This is the largest Iftar gathering in this Barua-majority area, turning into a beautiful celebration of harmony and unity. The participation of people from different faiths makes it truly special.”

Supon Barua, director of the coaching center, added,
“Our goal is to spread the light of education in remote areas. To honor our Muslim students, we organized this Iftar, where Barua and Hindu students also joined. A total of 110 students from three different batches participated in this event.”

The initiative has been widely praised as a remarkable example of communal harmony and mutual respect.
