To secure fair prices for salt farmers in Cox’s Bazar and Moheshkhali, Yamin has held a direct meeting with the Industry Adviser. He shared this development in a recent Facebook post.

Yamin stated, “I had a one-on-one discussion with Industry Adviser Mr. Adil to ensure fair pricing for our marginal salt farmers. During the meeting, I highlighted the high production costs, the farmers’ hard labor, and the losses caused by market syndicates.

The adviser assured me that practical steps would be taken to halt imports and dismantle these syndicates. He also promised to keep me updated on progress.”

Following the discussion, the adviser’s office forwarded the matter to the secretary this morning, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

Expressing his joy over being able to take such a significant initiative on his birthday, Yamin remarked, “I am delighted that on my birthday, I could bring the concerns of Moheshkhali’s salt farmers to the highest level of the relevant authority.”

Stakeholders hope this initiative will help salt farmers regain their rightful earnings and secure a fair market.
