Fifteen skilled swimmers from different parts of Bangladesh successfully crossed the Kutubdia Channel in Cox’s Bazar as part of the “PaharTheke.com Kutubdia Channel Swimming 2025,” held on Saturday, April 12.

The open water event, organized by Bangladesh Open Water Swimming (BOAS), started at Mognama Ghat in Pekua upazila and ended at Boro Koop Ghat in Kutubdia—spanning a challenging 5-kilometer route through the sea channel.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about marine pollution, promote swimming as a sport, and encourage consciousness among coastal communities about environmental issues.

The event was inaugurated by BOAS advisor Mohammad Shimul Chowdhury. The title sponsor for the event was PaharTheke.com, a platform supporting nature and adventure sports.
