A total of eight districts have been flooded in the country due to heavy rain and onrush of water from the upstream regions which has stranded at least 30 lakhs people in those areas.
Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief KM Ali Reza said that the flood situation may further deteriorate.
The overall flood situation in Feni, Noakhali, Cumilla and Noakhali worsened so far and Vast tracts of land in Habiganj, Moulvibazar, parts of Brahmanbaria, Chattogram and Chattogram Hill Tracts have gone under water.
According to the information of met offices, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to be occurred in the north-eastern region of the country in the next 48 hours, as a result the water of the main rivers of flood affected regions may flow over the danger level.
