Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur has stressed the need to strengthen the agricultural sector further to ensure the country’s prosperous future.

“Agriculture plays an indispensable role in our national economy,” he said, highlighting the importance of fostering entrepreneurship, improving skills, and ensuring financial support for farmers.

He noted that the country’s banking sector can play a vital role in achieving these goals.

Dr. Mansur made these remarks on Thursday morning while addressing a “Agricultural Entrepreneur Gathering and Skills Development” training workshop held at a luxury hotel in Cox’s Bazar.

United Commercial Bank Limited (UCBL) organized the event, which was chaired by Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, the bank’s Managing Director and CEO. UCBL Chairman Sharif Zahir was present as a day-long guest.

Various aspects of agriculture and related sectors were discussed throughout the day-long event.

Around 300 agricultural entrepreneurs participated, some of whom shared their experiences with the audience.
