For the first time in Bangladesh, the Coastal Ultra 2025, a 200-kilometer ultra marathon, was successfully held along Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive. The race, which began on February 20 under the theme “Save the Ocean, Save the Planet,” concluded today. Organized by the volunteer group Coastal Ultra Bangladesh, the event was supported by the Bangladesh Tourism Board and the Cox’s Bazar district administration.

Event coordinator Sufi Mohammad Selim Reza highlighted that the marathon aimed to promote sustainable tourism while raising awareness about coastal conservation and marine ecosystems. He noted that this is Bangladesh’s first-ever 200-km ultra marathon.

Nearly 400 runners, both local and international, participated in the event, with 250 volunteers providing support throughout the race. Runners competed in four categories: 50 km, 100 km, 100 miles, and 200 km.
