After a 22-day ban, fishing in the Bay of Bengal near Cox’s Bazar has resumed in full swing.

Cox’s Bazar Fishery Ghat is bustling with activity, as both fishermen and wholesalers engage in their daily trade. A wholesaler shared that hundreds of trawlers from the coastal area have now set sail for the sea, hopeful that the fishermen’s nets will come back filled with a variety of fish, including hilsa.

Fishermen noted that they were unable to fish for the past 22 days due to the ban. Now, with the restrictions lifted at midnight, they are setting off eagerly into the waters.
