Over 600 skilled graduates from Cox’s Bazar took a major step toward their professional careers today by participating in Career Carnival 2025.
The grand job fair was jointly organized by the Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CBCCI) and the Tourism & Hospitality Industry Skills Council (T&H ISC) under the Improving Skills and Economic Opportunities for Women and Youth in Cox’s Bazar (ISEC) project, implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Development (DYD).
Throughout the day-long event, more than 30 leading employers from key sectors—including hospitality, information technology (IT), construction, ready-made garments, and caregiving—took part.
The fair created a unique platform for direct interaction between employers, industry leaders, training providers, and skilled youth, forging a strong bridge between skills and employment opportunities.
The primary goal of Career Carnival 2025 was to create direct job opportunities for trained youth, strengthen linkages between the private sector and skilled workforce, and engage the promising human resources of Cox’s Bazar in a productive and inclusive work environment.
The event was chaired by Abu Murshed Chowdhury, President of CBCCI.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman (Grade–1), Director General of the Department of Youth Development (DYD), said: “Cox’s Bazar is emerging as a promising district in the fields of employment generation and entrepreneurship development.
The Department of Youth Development will continue initiatives to transform the youth of this region into a demand-driven, skilled workforce. The ISEC project has shown our young people a new way of thinking about their future.”
He expressed his appreciation to CBCCI and other organizers and emphasized the importance of sustaining the project’s achievements.

In his welcome remarks, Sirajul Islam, Project Manager of ILO, said:
“This event is not just a job fair—it is a powerful connection between skills and opportunities. Through the ISEC project, we are working to create decent employment opportunities for youth—especially women—and to strengthen the local economy.”
CBCCI President Abu Murshed Chowdhury stated: “This job fair reflects our firm commitment to transforming skills into sustainable livelihoods. It marks an important step toward making the youth of Cox’s Bazar more employable and entrepreneurial. The ISEC project is a remarkable initiative, and we seek the continued support of all partners to sustain its impact.”
He added that, through CBCCI’s initiatives, 780 young men and women have completed training so far, of whom around 400 have already secured meaningful employment.
The ISEC project, funded by Global Affairs Canada, is implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Development (DYD). To date, the project has provided various skill development training to over 20,000 youth, including 4,000 who received formal technical training, with around 73% now employed or self-reliant.
During the fair, employers conducted on-the-spot interviews, collected CVs, and offered career guidance. Participants engaged directly with industry leaders, received personalized advice, and gained insights into current labor market trends and emerging job opportunities.

Altogether, Career Carnival 2025 has positioned Cox’s Bazar as an emerging hub of skilled human resources—capable of meeting not only national economic demands but also opportunities in the global employment market.
