Cox’s Bazar International University felicitated 34 students who passed the Bangladesh Bar Council final examination and enrolled as advocates.
The university authorities organised the program at the CBIU auditorium on Friday morning, April 10. The founder and chairman of the university, Lion Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, attended the event as the chief guest.
He said that no one can suppress indomitable willpower, adding that those who succeed through merit, hard work, courage, and competence do so. He expressed hope that students of Cox’s Bazar International University, now recognised as advocates, would one day rise to become judges, bringing pride to the institution and their families.
Presided over by Dean Professor Kazi Mostain Billah, the event was also attended by special guests including vice chairman of the Board of Trustees Mahbuba Sultana Sheuli, Judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-1 (District and Sessions Judge) Dr Md Abu Hanif, Treasurer Professor Dr Belal Noor Azizi, President of the District Bar Association Advocate Mohammad Abdul Mannan and its General Secretary Advocate Mohammad Akhtar Uddin Helali.
The teacher in the law department, Raihatul Gir Kasba, delivered the welcome speech at the beginning of the program.
Students greeted the invited guests with a floral reception upon their arrival at the venue.
Kazi Sadia Ahmed, a law student, conducted the event. Among others, Director (HR) Khurshidur Rahman, Registrar Rajidul Haque, Assistant Director (PR and Media), Imam Khair, Assistant Registrar Selim Jahangir, and law department teachers Tasmin Akter, Mahmudul Hasan, and Shariful Islam were present.
Among the awardees were Muazzam Morshed and Nusrat Jahan, who spoke at the program. They highlighted the quality of the university’s education and expressed gratitude to their teachers.
At the end of the programme, guests handed over crests to the newly enrolled advocates.
At the beginning of the event, Mahfuzur Rahman, a student of the 18th batch of the law department, recited from the Holy Quran.
