The Bangladesh Coast Guard has distributed relief supplies to 300 flood-affected, disadvantaged, and distressed families in Teknaf, who were severely impacted by recent flooding.
The relief distribution took place on Thursday, July 10, in the afternoon, and was confirmed by the Coast Guard’s Media Officer, Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid.
He stated that since its inception, the Bangladesh Coast Guard has always been at the forefront, assisting in disaster management and the socio-economic development of underprivileged, helpless, and affected communities along the coast and riverbanks. In addition, they tirelessly work to maintain peace, order, and public safety in coastal areas.
In the wake of the recent week-long heavy rainfall, low-lying areas of Teknaf have been inundated, trapping local residents and creating urgent humanitarian needs.
Continuing their commitment to service, the Bangladesh Coast Guard’s Eastern Zone, under the command of BCG Station Teknaf, distributed relief supplies between 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 10, in the Rangikhali and Oborang areas of Teknaf. In total, 300 families received essential relief items.
Lieutenant Commander Harun-ur-Rashid also assured that the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue to engage in such humanitarian activities in the future.
