In Bangladesh’s coastal regions, farmers have started preparing their lands for cultivation again after a long pause during the peak monsoon season. With the arrival of the rains, farming activities came to a halt as the seas grew rough and water from the hills flooded the fields. At Jadu Ghar village along the Marine Drive Road, 55-year-old farmer Mir Kashem was seen building earthen ridges to prepare his land for planting. He shared that he has been involved in farming since childhood, and despite the challenges of the coastal climate, he continues to work the land every year.
