As the sun dips below the horizon, the landscape of Cox’s Bazar sea beach undergoes a quiet transformation. The soft glow of twilight wraps the shoreline, leaving behind the bustle of the day and creating a distinctly different mood. The sky, painted in shades of orange, purple and blue, draws both local visitors and domestic and foreign tourists to the beach to savour the fleeting moment.
After sunset, the sound of the waves becomes more pronounced. A gentle breeze, the changing colours of the sky and the rhythmic motion of the sea together create a soothing and immersive atmosphere. While some visitors are busy capturing the scene through their camera lenses, others sit silently, gazing at the sea and absorbing the calm beauty of the surroundings.
On one side of the beach, tourists can be seen posing for photographs on horseback. The horses’ silhouettes against the twilight sky and the vast sea stretching behind them create memorable scenes.
Children, young couples and elderly tourists alike stroll along the shoreline, take photographs, or simply spend quiet moments with their loved ones.
Rashed Mahmud, a tourist from Dhaka, said, “I have visited Cox’s Bazar before, but the twilight after sunset feels truly special. It seems as if all fatigue is washed away. You can capture the scene on camera, but the feeling itself is difficult to put into words.”
Another visitor, Nusrat Jahan from Chattogram, shared a similar sentiment. “The sea is lively during the day, but after sunset it becomes deeply peaceful. I rode a horse for photos and then sat quietly for a while. This atmosphere touches the heart.”
According to locals, the twilight hours after sunset are the most captivating and thrilling time at Cox’s Bazar beach. The footsteps of visitors, the click of cameras and the sound of rolling waves together turn the shoreline into a rare meeting point between nature and human presence.
