Cox’s Bazar sea beach drew a large crowd of tourists on Friday, the weekly holiday, as clear skies after several days of rain and cloudy weather brought them back to the beach.
From Friday afternoon, the number of tourists began to rise, with large crowds seen at different points of the beach, including Laboni, Sugandha and Kolatoli, by evening.
As the afternoon gave way to evening, tourists were seen walking along the sandy beach, enjoying the waves and taking photographs. Many came with family members and friends to spend time in the pleasant surroundings.
Tourists said the rain limited their opportunities to go out during the past few days.
“After several days of rain, the sky is clear today. So I came to the beach with my family. The waves and pleasant weather have made the time quite enjoyable,” said Habib, a tourist from Dhaka.
Abdullah, a small trader operating at the beach, said their sales had increased as the number of tourists rose on the weekly holiday.
“Tourist numbers had declined over the past few days because of the rain. But the situation has largely returned to normal since Friday afternoon,” he said.
After days of persistent rain, Cox’s Bazar beach came alive again on Friday afternoon as the skies cleared and the weather turned pleasant.
By evening, the roar of the waves and the excitement of tourists created a lively atmosphere along the country’s most popular sea beach.
