The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital has been expanded with 10 additional beds to strengthen critical care services for patients suffering from serious cardiac conditions.
The new beds were inaugurated on Monday by the hospital’s Assistant Director, Dr Md Mahmudul Haque.
A brief inauguration programme was held, chaired by Dr Lutfun Nahar, head of the Cardiology Department.
Among those present were Dr Kabir Ahmad and Dr Shahjahan Nazir of the Medicine Department; Dr Liaquat Hossain Tapan, Dr GM Selim and Dr Imran Hossain of the Cardiology Department; along with medical officers from the Medicine Department and the CCU.
Speakers at the programme expressed hope that the expansion would significantly improve the hospital’s capacity to provide specialised cardiac care and enhance overall treatment services in the future.
With the addition of the new beds, the total capacity of the CCU has doubled from 10 to 20 beds.
