To promote a healthier, more positive, and active generation, the ‘Cox’s Bazar Marathon 2025’ is set to take place on November 1.

Organized by the Cox’s Bazar Runners Community with the support of the Cox’s Bazar District Administration, this will be the third edition of the annual marathon, themed “Every Step for Wellness and the Ocean.”

The colorful event is title-sponsored by Akij Bicycle and powered by Chuti Beach Resort.

The marathon will feature four race categories—42.2 km (Full Marathon), 21.1 km (Half Marathon), 10 km (Mid Run), and 2.5 km (Kids Run).

Runners will start from Laboni Beach Point, passing through Holiday Mor, Thana Road, Khurushkul, Choufaldandi, Pokkhali, and Khan Beach of Islampur, before finishing at Laboni Beach again.

According to Saifullah Sadiq, a member of the organizing committee, around 1,400 runners from home and abroad are participating this year.

“All preparations are complete. The Kids Expo began on Friday morning, where participants are collecting their race kits,” he added.

The award-giving ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on November 1 at the Laboni Open Stage, with Deputy Commissioner M. A. Mannan attending as the chief guest, and Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner and ultramarathoner Mohammad Shamsuddoza Nayan presiding over the event.

Members of the Cox’s Bazar Runners Community hope the marathon will be more than just a race—a movement to inspire physical fitness, mental resilience, and ocean conservation awareness among the youth.
