Cox’s Bazar has recorded a total of 136 millimeters of rainfall from yesterday morning until 6 am today, with the possibility of further increase as rain continues to pour across the district. According to Mohammad Abdul Hannan, Assistant Meteorologist at the Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office, the region is likely to experience light to heavy rain over the next few days.

Meanwhile, under the influence of active southwest monsoon, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has advised Cox’s Bazar, Chattogram, Mongla, and Payra seaports to hoist local cautionary signal number 3. Fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Earlier, Cox’s Bazar recorded 113 millimeters of rainfall within 24 hours, with continuous showers still underway.
