Today, February 14, Cox’s Bazar, a popular tourist destination, embodies the spirit of Valentine’s Day and the first day of spring or Pahela Basanta. Beside the blue waves of the sea, nature itself seems to have splashed fresh colours across the landscape.

From the town’s lanes to the villages, hills, and coastal belts, trees are blooming with vibrant flowers. The fiery red blossoms of shimul and palash, the freshness of tender green leaves, and the gentle spring breeze have created a unique atmosphere. Mango trees are swaying with budding blossoms, and in some places, tiny mangoes have already appeared, hinting that summer is not far away.

A tourist, Mahbub Hasan, said that visiting Cox’s Bazar at this time of year brings a special feeling. Surrounded by flowers, light breezes, and the rhythm of the sea, he said, the mind feels refreshed.

Local businessman Nurul Islam noted that the number of tourists has increased with the arrival of spring. He said the beauty of nature this season has a positive impact on the local economy as well.

From early morning, visitors have been gathering at the seaside. Some have come with their families, others hand in hand with loved ones, hoping to make the day of spring and affection memorable. Under the blue sky and golden sunlight, accompanied by the roar of the sea in the background, nature seems to whisper that a new season brings new hope.

Locals say that during this time of Falgun, Cox’s Bazar appears at its most vibrant. With the growing presence of tourists, the city has become livelier, and hotels and restaurants are hosting special arrangements to mark the occasion.

On February 14, dressed in the colors of spring, Cox’s Bazar once again reminds everyone that the beauty of nature is our greatest love and our greatest inspiration.
