Winter has only just begun, and with the first touch of cool breeze, Cox’s Bazar has unveiled a breathtaking new look. The world’s longest sea beach appears clearer, calmer, and bluer than ever—like a giant mirror reflecting the sky. It is as if nature has personally decorated the coastline for the season.

From early morning, tourists have been gathering at various points of the beach to witness this surreal blue transformation. Every corner, from Laboni Point to Sugandha and Kolatoli, has a view that looks like it came straight from a postcard. As the first light of dawn spreads across the sea, a shimmering blue glow emerges instantly, captivating all who see it. Many visitors are busy capturing the moment on camera, while others simply stand still, absorbing the beauty in silence.

Sumaiya Akter, a tourist visiting with her family from Chattogram, said, “I’ve never seen the sea this blue. It feels like a scene straight out of the Maldives. I didn’t expect such a beautiful gift at the start of winter.”

Thanks to the crystal-clear water, the sand beneath the waves is visible even from a distance, along with the shifting play of light under the water. Locals say this appearance usually comes when sea currents weaken and the sky remains cloudless at the onset of winter. But this year, the blue tint is even more striking—drawing in significantly larger crowds.

Mohammad Osman Gani, a lifeguard supervisor on the beach, said visitor numbers have surged since morning. “People who love photography or making reels don’t want to miss this rare view,” he added.

Hotel and motel operators report a rise in bookings as well. Many tourists are reserving rooms online in advance, eager to witness this enchanting shade of blue.

With this early-winter transformation, Cox’s Bazar seems to be reintroducing itself in a brand-new light. The fresh blue waves, crystal-clear water, and serene atmosphere have turned the region into a mesmerizing escape for visitors.

No one knows how long this magical blue spell will last, but those arriving now are being rewarded with an unforgettable experience—because in Cox’s Bazar, winter has begun with a dream painted in blue.
