Thousands of tourists flocked to Cox’s Bazar sea beach on Friday, marking a lively start to the weekend.
The winter sea remains calm and peaceful, with its clear blue waves captivating tourists.
Red-yellow flags have been placed along the beach—signaling that swimming is currently considered safe.
However, due to the chilly morning breeze, fewer tourists went into the water early in the day. Once the sun appeared, many began enjoying the waves.
Tourists mainly entered the water from the Kolatoli, Laboni, and Sugandha points.
For safety, the Sea Safe Lifeguard authorities have issued guidelines for visitors to follow.
According to the lifeguard team, designated swimming zones have been marked within these three points, where lifeguard services are actively available.
Red-yellow flags clearly identify these areas. The authorities have warned that going beyond these marked zones may put swimmers at risk.
Mohammad Osman Gani, Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard of Sea Safe Lifeguard, told Cox’s Bazar Life that the sea is currently very calm.
“As winter settles in, the sea often remains peaceful, which is why red-yellow flags have been put up. To avoid any danger, tourists should swim only within the designated areas where lifeguards are stationed,” he added.
On Friday (December 12), low tide occurred at 10:14 AM, while high tide is expected to begin around 4:15 PM.
Authorities have repeatedly reminded tourists that ignoring safety instructions or lifeguard warnings may lead to serious accidents at any time.
