The Cox’s Bazar district administration organized the District Tourism Development Committee meeting on Wednesday at the Shahid ATM Jafar Alam Conference Hall.
District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin chaired the meeting. He emphasized the importance of identifying and leveraging the potential of Cox’s Bazar’s tourism industry. He stated, “To achieve the desired growth of our tourism sector, we must uncover its possibilities and utilize development opportunities through coordinated efforts.”
Key officials and stakeholders attended the session, including Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, Additional District Magistrate Imran Hossain Sojib, Tourist Police Inspector Zahid Hossain, Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, TUYAC President MM Sadeq Labu, Guesthouse Owners’ Association President Abul Kashem Sikder, and student coordinator Robiul Hossain, among others.
The discussions focused on ensuring tourist safety, diversifying tourism activities, keeping the beaches free from hawkers and beggars, lighting the connecting roads to tourist areas, and other pertinent issues.
The district administration also showcased the progress of the Tourism Guide Travel Mobile App, a comprehensive tool to enhance visitors’ experiences in Cox’s Bazar.
