Local visitors and tourists from different parts of the country thronged Cox’s Bazar sea beach from the afternoon of Eid-ul-Azha day, adding festive colour to the holiday celebrations.
The Laboni, Sugandha and Kolatoli points of the beach became lively with tourists enjoying the roaring waves and scenic beauty of the sea.
Ahad, a local visitor who came to the beach with his family, said, “We came to the beach with our family on Eid day and are really enjoying the atmosphere. The sea environment truly refreshes the mind.”
Law enforcement agencies, including Tourist Police Bangladesh, actively ensured the safety of visitors.
Nihad Adnan Taiyan, superintendent of police of the Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar Region, said that tourist police members were working around the clock during the Eid holidays.
Security surveillance had also been strengthened at Kolatoli, Sugandha and Laboni points in Cox’s Bazar town, as well as at Inani, Himchari and Patowartek tourist spots, he added.
Tourism stakeholders said that Cox’s Bazar might witness the arrival of hundreds of thousands of tourists during the extended Eid holidays this year.
Bookings at most hotels, motels, and resorts in the town have already increased significantly, they said.
