The Zara Inter-District Badminton Tournament ended with a grand inauguration in Cox’s Bazar. The event was officially inaugurated on Wednesday (February 5) at 8 PM at the Zara Convention Hall, GBC Field, by Nilufa Yasmin Chowdhury, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar.

Speaking as the chief guest, she emphasized the importance of sports in youth development and announced,

“We will take all necessary steps to enhance the sports sector in Cox’s Bazar. Every school will have its own sporting club where regular competitions will be organized. From these platforms, skilled athletes will emerge.”

The event, organized by Zara Badminton Club, was graced by notable figures, including the Principal of Cox’s Bazar City College, the President of the Cox’s Bazar Shop Owners’ Forum, the Acting President of the District Badminton Association, sports organizers, and local sports journalists. The tournament was chaired by Morshed Alam, President of the Zara Badminton Club, and moderated by M.A. Aziz Russell.

A total of 40 teams are participating in the A and B categories. According to the organizers, this competition provides a crucial platform for local and inter-district players to enhance their skills.

The event has created a festive atmosphere in the sports community of Cox’s Bazar, drawing enthusiastic participation and support.
