With the start of the tourist season, the world’s longest sea beach in Cox’s Bazar has once again come alive with the buzz of visitors.
On the weekly holiday, the shoreline turned festive as waves of travelers arrived to enjoy the sea breeze and winter sun.
The surge in hotel bookings has also brought smiles to the faces of local traders, while lifeguards and tourist police remain vigilant to ensure safety.
The beach was teeming with people — children playing in the sand, families taking photos, and friends laughing as they splashed in the waves.
All around, the air echoed with the roar of the sea and the joyful chatter of visitors.
On Friday’s public holiday, tourists poured in from across the country — some with families, others with friends or loved ones — to savor the beauty of Cox’s Bazar.
Nusrat Jahan, who came from Chattogram with her family, said, “The waves, the warm sand, and the crowd — everything feels joyful. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Cox’s Bazar this lively.”
Rakibul Hasan, a university student visiting from Rajshahi, shared, “I came with my friends. We played in the water this morning, and now we’re waiting to watch the sunset. The beach environment feels really good now.”
As the season begins, hotel and motel bookings are rising fast, bringing relief and optimism to local business owners.
Meanwhile, the Tourist Police have stepped up patrols to ensure safety, while lifeguards are warning visitors not to go beyond the designated swimming zones.
Mohammad Osman Gani, Senior Lifeguard and Supervisor of Sea Safe Lifeguards, said, “Our teams are deployed across Kolatoli, Sugandha, and Laboni points. They are closely monitoring the beach to ensure tourist safety.”
Tourism insiders believe that if this crowd continues through the season, Cox’s Bazar’s tourism sector will see a strong rebound.
