With just three days to go before Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, a festive atmosphere has spread across Cox’s Bazar alongside the rest of the country.

The five-day celebration will begin on September 28 with Maha Shashti and conclude on October 2 with the immersion of idols on Bijoya Dashami.

In the beach town of Cox’s Bazar, last-minute preparations are in full swing. Markets are buzzing with shoppers purchasing new clothes, while artisans are busy adding final touches of color to idols.

Others are setting up pandals, decorating with lights, and arranging the many details that bring the festival to life. A visit to temples and marketplaces reflects this vibrant energy everywhere.

To ensure smooth celebrations, law enforcement agencies, including police, Ansar, BGB, and RAB, will be deployed at all Puja mandaps in Cox’s Bazar, in line with security measures taken nationwide.
