Every day, fishermen of Cox’s Bazar take their boats into the sea in search of fish.

However, returning those heavy boats to shore after battling the waves is no simple task. Their trusted solution: a locally made, two-wheeled wooden cart.

Fishermen say it is impossible to drag a boat ashore single-handedly. With the help of these carts, however, the task becomes somewhat easier.

A group of men places the cart under the boat and pushes it together, pulling it slowly onto the sand. While it still demands much collective strength, the cart reduces some strain.

Seeing fishermen working in unison to pull their boats past the crashing waves often becomes an intriguing attraction for tourists strolling along the beach.

This ingenious yet straightforward practice reflects the hardworking rhythm of life along the Cox’s Bazar coast — where unity, tradition, and resilience meet the sea.
