Fishermen along Cox’s Bazar coast are in full swing, preparing for their upcoming journey to the sea. Some are repairing trawlers, painting, washing, or loading nets and essential gear onto the boats.

The 22-day fishing ban in the seas and rivers will officially end tomorrow at midnight, leaving the fishermen with little time to rest as they prepare for the voyage.

The government imposed this ban from October 13 to November 3 to ensure the unhindered breeding of hilsa. During this period, the government prohibited the catching, transporting, marketing, and selling of marine fish. The fisheries department and local administration actively worked to enforce the ban and ensure its success.
