A video showing a young man kicking a football toward an aircraft from the Cox’s Bazar beach has gone viral on social media. Since Saturday morning, the 14-second clip has been widely circulated on platforms like Facebook, prompting public concern and reactions from authorities.

Based on the surrounding visuals, the video appears to have been filmed near Seagull Point, on the northern end of Sugandha Beach in Cox’s Bazar.

In the video, a young man is seen launching a football with a powerful kick toward a plane flying overhead. The ball seems to rise upward but eventually falls back without reaching the aircraft.

Regarding the matter, Golam Mortoza, Manager of the Cox’s Bazar Airport, said, “During takeoff, aircraft typically fly at an altitude of about 1,400 meters over the beach area. While landing, the altitude is usually around 1,000 meters.”

“Given this, it’s not possible for a football kicked from the beach to reach a flying aircraft,” Mortoza explained. However, he emphasized that several activities, such as flying drones or launching fireworks near the beach, are strictly prohibited to ensure air traffic safety.

“People should be aware that throwing any object, including a football, toward an aircraft is dangerous and must be avoided,” he warned.
