Surfing is a thrilling water sport that involves riding the roaring waves of the sea. While surfing is still gaining recognition in Bangladesh, it remains a popular sport worldwide. Many consider Cox’s Bazar, home to most surfing clubs in Bangladesh, the perfect location for this thrilling activity.
Local surfers in Cox’s Bazar regularly ride the waves at Kolatoli and Sugandha points. Recently, they have been joined by foreign visitors and residents, who are also embracing the thrill of surfing on the world’s longest unbroken sea beach.
“Three key features make Cox’s Bazar an attractive destination for surfing,” said Saifullah Sifat, a local surfer. “First, the clear blue waves; second, the absence of underwater rocks or sharp objects that could pose injury risks; and third, the lack of dangerous marine creatures like sharks.”
The growing participation of international surfers adds a new dimension to the region’s adventure tourism, showcasing Cox’s Bazar as a vibrant hub for water sports enthusiasts.
