Champatoli, a simple tong shop in the center of Cox’s Bazar during the days before 2G networks, was a popular gathering place for people of all ages.
Known for its trademark red tea, the little tea shop evolved into a social hub where locals could meet, chat, and enjoy a simple brew.
However, Champatoli has changed dramatically over time. The once-modest tea store has become an elegant cafe catering to a more sophisticated and affluent clientele.
The bustling talks over red tea have been replaced by the quiet hum of expensive American coffee cups, marking the end of an era for the city’s old gathering place.
