Tourists are flocking to the conch and seashell shops along Cox’s Bazar beach, where vibrant collections of shells and marine ornaments are on full display.
This season, a new attraction has emerged—beautifully hand-painted souvenir shells.
One of them, a big decorated shell, has become a standout piece. Painted in red and green, it carries the message “Shubho Bhromon Cox’s Bazar” (Happy Trip Cox’s Bazar). At its center, a bright red sun, rolling sea waves, and rows of palm trees capture the essence of the iconic Cox’s Bazar shoreline.
The addition of the year 2025 gives the souvenir an even more personal feel. Surrounding it are neatly arranged shells of various species and colours.
According to the shell vendors, the early winter tourist rush has significantly boosted sales of souvenir items.
Custom-designed shells, in particular, are selling fast. Many visitors purchase them as keepsakes to remember their visit or as gifts for loved ones.
Tourists say these picture-perfect hand-painted shells beautifully reflect the charm of Cox’s Bazar and make for wonderful mementos of their trip.
