The historic pond at Hotel Shaibal, one of Cox’s Bazar’s oldest and best-known hotels, has been revitalised by the monsoon, adding a fresh dimension to the property’s natural beauty and attracting visitors seeking a tranquil retreat.
Filled by seasonal rainfall, the expansive pond is now surrounded by lush greenery, with rows of coconut trees enhancing the picturesque setting. Blooming water lilies have added to its charm, creating a serene landscape that appeals to both tourists and nature lovers.
The pond offers particularly scenic views in the soft light of the morning and the gentle breeze of late afternoon, when visitors can enjoy the calm waters and the peaceful surroundings.
Owned by the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, the star-rated Hotel Shaibal has long been regarded as a landmark in the tourism history of Cox’s Bazar. While the hotel has modern facilities, it continues to preserve much of its heritage and architectural character.
