The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for this year begin today across Bangladesh. The written exams start at 10:00 AM with the Bangla First Paper and will continue until August 10. Practical exams are scheduled from August 11 to August 21.
This year, a total of 1,251,111 students are participating in the examinations nationwide. Compared to last year, the number of examinees has dropped by 81,882.
To prevent rumors of question paper leaks, ensure exam security, and protect students from misinformation, the government has ordered all coaching centers across the country to remain closed from midnight on Tuesday until August 15. The Secondary and Higher Education Division issued this directive.
In light of the rising number of COVID-19 and dengue cases, the government has also instructed that strict health and safety protocols be maintained at all exam centers.
In Cox’s Bazar, Acting District Education Officer confirmed that 16,653 students are appearing for the exams at 36 centers across the district. Among them, 12,747 students are taking the HSC exams at 18 centers, 1,962 students are sitting for the Alim exams at nine centers, and 944 vocational students are appearing at another nine centers.
District Commissioner Mohammad Salah Uddin stated that all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure a smooth and cheating-free exam environment across the district’s nine upazilas, including Teknaf.
