Julie Verburg, Country Director of Acted Bangladesh, paid a courtesy visit to former Whip and Cox’s Bazar District BNP President Shahjahan Chowdhury to discuss the ongoing Rohingya refugee crisis and the broader socio-economic challenges faced by the local host communities.
The meeting took place on Saturday morning (June 21) at Shahjahan Chowdhury’s residence in Rajapalong, Ukhiya. During the discussion, both sides engaged in a constructive dialogue on the current situation, local hardships, community needs, and future development priorities.
Also present at the meeting were Sarwar Jahan Chowdhury, Convener of Ukhiya Upazila BNP, prominent NGO figure and social worker Shahidul Islam, among other stakeholders.
