The Khurushkul Wind Power Plant in Cox’s Bazar, the largest wind power facility in the country, is generating 60 megawatts of electricity daily with its 22 turbines currently.
Built using the latest technology from China, the plant is a significant addition to the country’s renewable energy sector.
Abdul Quader Gani, the project director and executive engineer of the Cox’s Bazar Power Division, said that each turbine can produce up to 3 megawatts, totaling 66 megawatts under favorable weather conditions which is fed into the national grid.
This wind power plant was constructed with Chinese financing for Tk900 crore.
