A three-day Land Service Fair has been inaugurated in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar under the theme “People-friendly automated land management for secure land and a prosperous future”.

The programme was launched on Tuesday morning at the Upazila Land Office premises.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman formally inaugurated the nationwide “Land Service Fair-2026” at the Land Bhaban in Tejgaon, Dhaka. Following the inauguration, the fair began simultaneously in districts and upazilas across the country and will continue until May 21.

Ramu Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Zillur Rahman attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.

In his speech, he said the government was working to ensure fully digital and hassle-free land services at people’s doorsteps. He added that citizens could now access various modern services, including e-mutation and online land development tax payments, from their homes without difficulty.

He said the main objective of the fair and service week was to raise public awareness of digital land services and ensure quick, harassment-free service delivery.

The programme, chaired by Ramu Assistant Commissioner (Land) Swarup Muhuri, was also attended by Ramu upazila BNP member secretary Abul Bashar Babu, Ramu Press Club president Abul Kashem and journalist Kazi Mamun as special guests.

Officials from different departments, local dignitaries and media representatives were also present at the event.

Organised by the Ministry of Land, the fair aims to familiarise citizens with new digital services and provide them directly to the public. The initiative also seeks to simplify land services at the grassroots level and increase public awareness about digital platforms and citizen services.
