The monthly District Law and Order Committee meeting was held today at the Shaheed ATM Zafar Alam Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Cox’s Bazar, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin.
In his opening remarks, the DC recommended strict market surveillance to prevent artificial crises and price hikes of spices and other essentials during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. He urged the concerned authorities to remain vigilant so that no one can manipulate the market through unethical practices.
Key attendees included Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saif Uddin Shaheen, former whip Shahjahan Chowdhury, Cox’s Bazar Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman, and student representatives.
Officials from the army, RAB, BGB, various government departments, political leaders, and youth representatives were also present.
The meeting addressed multiple pressing issues, such as maintaining overall law and order, preventing the smuggling of rice, fertilizer, cement, and other essentials, and controlling drug trafficking.
Before the main session, the District Court Assistance Committee, the Smuggling Case Monitoring Committee, and the Women and Child Trafficking Prevention Committee also met.
