Although relatively quiet during the daytime in Ramadan, the Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach comes alive in the evening as crowds gather after iftar.
Local visitors flock to the coastal area, particularly at Kolatoli Beach Point and Sugandha Beach Point.
On-the-ground observations show that after breaking their fast, many people head to the open beach with family and friends to spend some time relaxing. They enjoy the cool sea breeze to ease the fatigue of the day’s fasting and heat. Scenes of children playing, young people socialising, and families spending time together create a lively atmosphere across the beach.
A local resident, Hasan, said that due to daily workload and fatigue during Ramadan, it is difficult to go out during the day. “That is why we come to the beach after iftar: to relax.” It refreshes the mind and allows us to spend time with family,” he said.
Meanwhile, hotels, motels, and businesses along the beach are also preparing for the upcoming Eid, expecting an increase in tourist arrivals. Business operators are refurbishing and organising their establishments in anticipation of higher demand.
Despite the daytime calm during Ramadan, Cox’s Bazar sea beach regains its vibrancy in the evening, driven by the presence of local visitors.
