The month of Poush has set in, bringing a mild chill across the country—fog blankets several regions from midnight to morning. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a rainfall alert for seven divisions during this weather pattern.

The department predicts rain in various parts of the country starting Friday and lasting two to three days. This could lower daytime temperatures, intensifying the winter chill.

The Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Office announced that a well-marked low-pressure area persists over the southwest Bay of Bengal and its adjacent regions.

Due to its influence, moderate (11-22 mm per hour) to heavy (44-88 mm per hour) rainfall may occur in some parts of Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions from 6:00 AM Friday to 6:00 AM Monday.

The Met Department advised residents to prepare for sudden weather changes, including reduced visibility due to fog and potential disruptions caused by rain.
