A low-pressure area has formed over the east-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Myanmar coast, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The system is likely to move north-northwestward along the Myanmar–Bangladesh coastline.
Under its influence, deep convection and dense cloud formation are occurring over the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
As a result, squally or gusty winds may sweep across Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and the adjoining coastal areas.
The BMD has advised Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar seaports to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3.
Fishermen operating in the northeastern Bay and adjoining sea areas have been instructed to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
The Meteorological Department issued the warning in a special weather bulletin on Tuesday (November 4).
