A striking sight has emerged in Ramu of Cox’s Bazar, where mango trees are now heavily laden with blossoms. In many cases, the abundance of buds is so dense that the leaves are barely visible, filling entire trees with clusters of fragrant blooms and sparking optimism among local residents.
According to locals, most of these trees were not planted for commercial cultivation but rather in household yards to meet family needs. However, the unusually high number of blossoms this season has raised hopes of a strong yield.
Parimal Barua, a resident of the area, said seven mango trees in his yard have produced an impressive number of buds. “It’s hard to even see the leaves because of the blossoms. If the weather remains favorable, we can expect a successful harvest. Timely rainfall would further improve the yield,” he said.
Residents are hopeful that if there are no natural disasters or excessive rainfall, the mango production this season will be satisfactory. A good harvest would meet household demand and allow families to sell surplus fruit for additional income.
