Marine Drive in Cox’s Bazar has taken on a unique charm during this season. Shirish flowers now cover the rain trees lining both sides of the road, creating a captivating natural scene.
Clusters of pinkish-white Shirish blossoms blooming at the tips of branches, peeking through layers of green leaves, are drawing attention from afar. Many travelers stop along the way to admire the view—some take photos, while others quietly take in the beauty.
Amid the intense summer heat, the wide shade of the rain trees has become a source of comfort for passersby. Workers, commuters, and local residents often sit under the trees to rest and enjoy the cool breeze.
Local pedestrian Abdullah said that during this time of year, when the Shirish flowers bloom, the entire area comes alive. The blossoms attract birds and add to the vibrancy of the natural surroundings.
Beyond their beauty, these long-standing rain trees play an important role in environmental protection. Providing shade, cooling, and clean air, they make Marine Drive more lively and help ease the fatigue of thousands of people every day.
