The Cox’s Bazar Industry and Trade Fair saw a massive surge of visitors on Friday, the weekly holiday, as thousands of locals and tourists from across the country flocked to the popular event.

From early morning, the fairground was packed with people, creating a festive atmosphere of excitement.

According to the fair management committee, the entry fee has been set at Tk 40. The turnout was many times higher than on a normal day because it was a weekend holiday.

Sanahullah Abu, chairman of the management committee, said this year’s fair features more innovation and diversity than previous editions. A newly installed memorial plaque honoring the martyrs of Cox’s Bazar in the July mass uprising is drawing particular attention from visitors.

The fair is especially lively for children and teenagers, with a wide range of rides including twists, lemba-bambu, a digital Ferris wheel, electric boats, bumper cars, water boats, water balls, digital trains, jumping slippers, and car racing. Several upgraded and unique rides have been introduced this year, adding an extra layer of attraction.

The fair is also rich in products and brands, featuring stalls from RFL, Vision, Walker, KIAM, Italiano, Comfy, home textiles, Irani Gold, and other popular names. Visitors can shop for clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and household items. The large Marine City Megamart stall offers an extensive collection of essentials, while the Women’s Fashion Zone features a wide variety of cosmetics and stylish apparel.

Food options are equally diverse. This year’s special highlight is doi fuchka, which has become a favourite among food lovers, while Sylhet’s renowned Ruhani pickle has also drawn praise for its taste and quality.

The fairground features magic shows and visitor-friendly facilities, including temporary prayer spaces and restrooms.

With the weekend rush, the Cox’s Bazar Industry and Trade Fair has quickly become one of the prime family destinations for leisure and entertainment.
