Sports organizer Mohammad Hossain has announced his intention to contest the upcoming election from Cox’s Bazar-4—widely known as the Lucky constituency—under the banner of the National Citizens Party (NCP), the political platform that emerged from the July mass uprising.
The constituency, comprising the border upazilas of Ukhiya and Teknaf, holds significant political importance. Hossain, a well-known figure in the district’s sports community, confirmed that he has collected the party’s nomination form as part of the official selection process.
“I’m hopeful of securing the party’s nomination. I want to dedicate myself to the welfare of the people of Ukhiya-Teknaf by harnessing the power of youth,” Hossain said.
A former student of the University of Dhaka, Hossain, hails from Sonarpara in Ukhiya. Besides his work as a sports organizer, he is also known locally as a journalist.
