A meeting was held in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday to exchange views with members of the electoral vigilance and observation teams in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum 2026.
The meeting took place on February 8, 2026, at the conference room of the Cox’s Bazar deputy commissioner’s office, with deputy commissioner Md A Mannan presiding.
Representatives from various law enforcement agencies and members of the election vigilance and observation teams attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on overall preparations to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful election and referendum, including the distribution of responsibilities, strengthening field-level monitoring, maintaining law and order, and measures to address potential challenges during the electoral process.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner Md. A. Mannan said that the election and referendum were vital democratic processes, and ensuring their transparency, neutrality, and peaceful conduct required collective efforts from all concerned. He urged all stakeholders to carry out their duties responsibly to uphold public confidence in the electoral process.
