The area beneath Cox’s Bazar’s new Khurushkul Bridge, locally known as “Ghatpar,” has emerged as a unique attraction for visitors during the evening and night.

The interplay of light and shadow across the banks of the Bankkhali River creates a mesmerising scene that often leaves onlookers in awe.

The view of row upon row of fishing trawlers docked at Ghat No. 6 is particularly striking. Their lights reflect on the river’s surface, creating a shimmering, almost magical ambiance.

Turning the gaze towards the new bridge reveals yet another layer of beauty—where modern architecture meets nature, adding a fresh dimension to the area.

Local resident Ashraful Islam said, “When the trawlers’ lights fall on the river after sunset, the place no longer feels ordinary. It’s as if another tourist spot has appeared within Cox’s Bazar itself.”

Many visitors walking across the new bridge stop to look at the river below. The movement of trawlers, the hum of boat engines, and the gentle lapping of waves together create a vibrant, living environment.

Mohammad Hridoy, a young visitor, said that standing on the new bridge at night can make one lose track of time. The sound of boats, the river breeze, and the lights combine to make the view truly enchanting.”

Locals note that a visit to Khurushkul’s new bridge area in the evening or at night is incomplete without experiencing the captivating sights of Ghatpar.
