The Cox’s Bazar district administration convened a meeting of the District Law and Order Committee on Sunday morning at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Presided over by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin, the meeting focused on maintaining law and order and stabilizing essential commodity prices ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. To curb price hikes, the administration has decided to conduct mobile court operations and take necessary measures against market manipulators.

The deputy commissioner also emphasized strict action against those assisting Rohingyas in leaving the refugee camps. He announced plans to increase security checkpoints to prevent unauthorized movement.

The meeting, moderated by Additional District Magistrate Imran Hossain Sajib, was attended by key officials, including Superintendent of Police Muhammad Rahmat Ullah, Civil Surgeon Dr. Asif Ahmed Hawlader, former BNP whip and district president Shahjahan Chowdhury, and Press Club President Mahbubur Rahman. Political leaders and student movement representatives also shared their perspectives.

Representatives from the army, BGB, RAB, police, APBn, various government offices, local public representatives, and student organizations were also present.

Key decisions taken at the meeting included regular mobile court operations against illegal encroachment on forest department land, installation of lighting and CCTV cameras along the Marine Drive road, strengthening measures to prevent theft, robbery, and drug smuggling, and controlling the movement of Rohingya refugees beyond the designated camps.
