The Youth Festival Kabaddi and Hockey Tournament (U-18 Boys and Girls), organized under the slogan “Come, Let’s Change the Nation, Change the World,” concluded in Cox’s Bazar. Maheshkhali won the boys’ kabaddi, Ukhiya triumphed in the girls’ category, and Cox’s Bazar Hockey Academy secured the hockey title.
The tournament, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and hosted by the District Administration and District Sports Office, held its final matches yesterday at the Bir Shreshtha Ruhul Amin Stadium.
Kabaddi (Boys): Moheshkhali Upazila clinched the championship title, while Sadar Upazila finished as runners-up.
Kabaddi (Girls): Ukhiya Upazila emerged as champions, with Sadar Upazila securing the runner-up position.
Hockey: Cox’s Bazar Hockey Academy won the championship, defeating Baitush Sharaf Hockey Academy, which finished as runners-up.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin was the chief guest at the closing and award ceremony. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nizam Uddin Ahmed presided over the event, and notable attendees included government offices, sports personalities, and locals.
Organized in knockout format with the support of the District Sports Association, the one-day tournament featured 18 Kabaddi teams (U-18 boys and girls) from nine upazilas of the district and four hockey teams from Cox’s Bazar city.
At the closing ceremony, winners and runners-up teams received their awards and trophies, celebrating a successful youth sports festival in Cox’s Bazar.
