Popular model and actress Moushumi Hamid took some time off from her busy shooting schedule in Cox’s Bazar to savor one of the town’s most beloved traditional dishes—Mundi.
On Wednesday night, she visited the well-known “King Di’s Mundi” eatery near the Buddhist temple area of Cox’s Bazar city.
Speaking to Cox’s Bazar Life, Moushumi shared that she is a frequent visitor to the restaurant whenever she is in town, though she often misses out as the dish sells quickly.
“Mundi is a must whenever I’m in Cox’s Bazar. I often come here, but many times it’s already sold out before I arrive. I had to return empty-handed three or four times before. But today I was lucky—I finally got to enjoy it,” she said with a smile.
Currently in Cox’s Bazar for shooting, Moushumi also expressed satisfaction with the city’s environment:
“Cox’s Bazar is much better than before. Cleanliness and overall management have improved a lot.”
Commenting on the country’s overall situation, she added:
“Everyone is aware of the current situation. We all need to return home early and prioritize our own safety.”
Restaurant owner King Di was visibly delighted at Moushumi’s visit:
“It’s a matter of great pride for me that such a popular personality comes to my shop to eat Mundi. I am truly honored.”
The Rakhine community’s traditional dish, Mundi, has long been a favorite among locals and tourists in Cox’s Bazar.
