With the theme “End nutritional inequality, build a self-reliant Bangladesh,” National Nutrition Week 2026 has been inaugurated in Kutubdia, Cox’s Bazar with due dignity.

The program began Thursday morning with a colourful rally.

After the rally, an inaugural ceremony was held at the Upazila Health Complex auditorium, presided over by Acting Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Golam Maruf. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abdur Rahman attended as the chief guest.

In his speech, the chief guest said that proper nutrition is the fundamental basis for building a healthy and strong nation. He added that eliminating nutritional disparity would enable the country to achieve true self-reliance, stressing the importance of expanding nutrition awareness at the grassroots level.

The week-long program includes nutrition discussion sessions, rallies, food habit demonstrations, and awareness campaigns at various educational institutions.

Doctors, health officials, journalists, nurses, and other health workers from different levels were also present at the event.
