Cox’s Bazar District Administration hosted a discussion meeting to commemorate National Voluntary Blood Donation and Posthumous Eye Donation Days today (November 2) at the Shaheed ATM Jafar Alam Conference Hall in the District Commissioner’s Office. 

District Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin attended as the chief guest.

In his address, the District Commissioner noted that healthy individuals can donate blood every four months. He emphasized that blood donation offers a free opportunity to detect hidden diseases. 

He also called for increased awareness to encourage posthumous eye donations, supporting those who are visually impaired.

Additional District Commissioner Md. Yamin Hossain presided over the event, followed by remarks from Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Jashim Uddin Chowdhury is the resident medical officer of District Sadar Hospital, Dr. Jihadul Islam.

Officials from various government departments, healthcare professionals, leaders of blood donor organizations, and members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement attended the event.
